  Extrusion is a manufacturing process to make various plastic products of uniform cross-section of continuous length. In the extrusion process, plastic granules are fed to a hopper which is placed above a barrel. The barrel contains a  feed screw  and a die is attached at the end of the barrel. When the plastic granules come to the barrel they melt and a feed screw forces the liquid plastic through a die, forming a long tube like shape. The shape of the tube is determined by the shape of the die. The liquid plastic is cooled and it solidifies into a long tube which is cut at regular intervals.
