Hypopigmentation is a condition where the skin loses its color, either overall body or a particular area. The treatment for hypopigmentation is normally not chosen by patients unless it causes bothersome symptoms. People with albinism type of hypopigmentation face symptoms like vision problems and need to take precautions like wearing a wide-bimmed hat and sunglasses whenever required. There is no cure for the types of pigmentation loss, but in rare cases, patients may be suggested to use a topical steroid cream that reduces skin coloration. Since vitiligo is an autoimmune skin disease, wherein the immune cells attack the pigment cells or melanocytes, leaving the other cells unharmed. Hence, people with vitiligo will not be exposed to covid-19, it simply means that the patient has little strong immunity which may be susceptible to such severe viruses.
